I work at the intersection of painting, textiles and installation. I reduce forms to their basic elements and bring them together in various media such as painting, weaving or embroidery. This creates an ongoing process in which the individual techniques interact and influence one another. Textile processes have developed quite naturally from my original painterly work with the grid. For me, the grid is central. Not only as a visual element, but as a tool with which I explore and reassemble structures. I don´t view weaving and embroidery as decorative additions, but as independent working methods in which the grid becomes physically tangible through threads, connections and repetitions. In Norway, I encountered a vibrant textile tradition that has had a profound influence on my work. Techniques such as weaving and embroidery are deeply rooted here. They show me how grids can not only be conceived but also realised materially, and how this can give rise to movement, blurring and a certain physicality. For me, weaving is also a form of thinking. Like a process in which order, precision and instability can be experienced simultaneously.

My works emerge from the desire not only to observe systems, but to think through them. In this process, the grid becomes a space in which it becomes visible how order comes into being or reforms itself. For me, the aesthetic effect is not a starting point, but arises from the process itself, from the interplay of thought, material and perception.
