My works move fluidly between painting, installation and graphics, with a focus on exploring the relationship between space, surface and perception. The core is a hierarchical system in which the colour black takes a central role. Another element is the grid. My main interest in the grid lies in its legibility, as it offers a wide range of possible interpretations. It measures the actual subject of the picture and makes the autonomy of two levels visible: that of the spiritual and that of the material level. I use its constructive character to make immaterial spaces recognisable as such and at the same time to profile them as autonomous counterparts. Furthermore, I consider the grid in cultural and socio-political terms, which allows me to add another element to my system that is excluded from the grid in theory: the narrative. My works show abstract imaginary spaces. They are perspective constructions of non-representational worlds that invite the viewer to look closely and, due to their nature, force them to constantly re-locate themselves in the space.
