For KODE Kunstsatellitten, I developed a participatory tape installation that offered people a direct way to engage with art through making, particularly those with little previous connection to it.
The starting point was my own work with geometric forms and visual systems. Unlike my predominantly black-and-white installations, this project opened the process to colour and the participants’ ideas. Using coloured tape, they transformed the space: geometric forms were joined by flowers, hearts, names, flags and freely drawn lines. Children brought particular curiosity and an uninhibited willingness to experiment.
The installation evolved into a collective work, exploring what emerges when an artistic system opens itself to the ideas and actions of others.
